Test it, fix it, ride it home
Most riders lose a day to an MOT: drop the bike off, get a lift home, come back. Here you wait with a brew while it goes through, and anything that fails gets quoted before a spanner is turned.
Book a service at the same time and the bike comes back road-legal and set up, in one visit.

Wheel building
Hand-laced, trued to factory tolerance
Full rebuilds, re-spoking in stainless or zinc, truing on precision jigs, and hub and rim refurbishment. Classic restorations and modern wheels after a knock, all built and balanced in-house.

Word of mouth, written down
Sparks & Spanners is a great workshop which will keep your bike on the road. Phil has a wealth of knowledge & is highly skilled in all aspects of bike maintenance from tyre changing to full engine rebuilds. Nothing is too much trouble all at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
Great communication from start to finish. Phil takes his time to make sure everything he takes on is spot on. He has an excellent work ethic leading to total confidence that the job will be done to a very high standard. I can highly recommend his services and will be using him for years to come. If you want it doing right Phil is your man!
MOT done while I waited so no having to leave the bike and come back later. On a side note I also got Phil to recover a friends bike after he fell off his bike due to a diesel spill and checked the bike over for damage. Excellent friendly service.

Before you ring
Do you work on classic bikes?
Yes. Classics are most of what comes through the door, from British twins to Japanese two-strokes. Points, carburettors and kickstarts are all normal here.
Can I wait while the MOT is done?
Yes. Most MOTs are done while you wait, so you are not left arranging lifts. Anything that fails is quoted before any work starts.
Do I need to book?
For a service or an MOT, ring ahead. For a fault that has left you stuck, ring anyway and we will tell you honestly when we can look at it.
How much will it cost?
You get a price before the work starts. On a rebuild you get an inspection and an estimate first, and a call if anything turns up that changes it.
