Before you ring
Questions riders ask
Do you work on classic bikes?
Yes. Classics are most of what comes through the door, from British twins to Japanese two-strokes. Points, carburettors and kickstarts are all normal here.
Can I wait while the MOT is done?
Yes. Most MOTs are done while you wait, so you are not left arranging lifts. Anything that fails is quoted before any work starts.
Do I need to book?
For a service or an MOT, ring ahead. For a fault that has left you stuck, ring anyway and we will tell you honestly when we can look at it.
How much will it cost?
You get a price before the work starts. On a rebuild you get an inspection and an estimate first, and a call if anything turns up that changes it.
Can you collect my bike?
A bike that is off the road can usually be collected locally. Ask when you ring and we will sort it out.
Do you fit parts I supply?
Usually yes. Bear in mind that a part you bought cannot be guaranteed by the workshop, and the labour still has to be paid for if it turns out to be wrong.
What if my bike fails its MOT?
You are told what failed and what it costs to put right. There is no obligation to have the work done here.
Had an accident that was not your fault?
We are an authorised McAMS dealer. There is no excess to pay, your no-claims is protected, a replacement bike is arranged, and the repair is done in this workshop.
