Engine and gearbox rebuilds
Strip-down, inspection and rebuild to spec, bench tested before it goes back in.
The heart of a motorcycle deserves expert care. Whether it is a vintage twin or a modern multi-cylinder, the work is the same: patience, precision and pride.
Full engine rebuilds
- Complete disassembly, inspection and cleaning
- Bearings, seals, gaskets, piston rings and valves replaced as needed
- Crankshaft truing and balancing
- Cylinder head work: valve lapping, seat cutting, shimming, reassembly
- Torque and clearances to manufacturer specification
- Bench tested before it goes back in the frame
Wear over time, an oil leak, or a full restoration project. Engines are rebuilt to run as well as new, or better.
Gearbox rebuilds and repairs
Smooth gear changes depend on precision.
- Gears, shafts and selector forks inspected and assessed
- Worn or damaged parts replaced
- Re-shimming and bearing replacement
- Reassembled and tested for clean engagement
- Oil seals and gaskets renewed throughout
Classic manual boxes and modern constant-mesh systems both. Jumping out of gear, rough shifting and worn bearings are the usual suspects.
What every rebuild includes
- An inspection and an estimate before any work begins
- Genuine or high-quality replacement parts
- Every component cleaned properly
- Assembly to torque and alignment specifications
- Oil fill and test rotation at the end
